The new Biesse Rover Edge GO S A11J20 Edgebander (previously known as the AKRON 1120j) is an advanced machine engineered to enhance the precision and productivity of edgebanding tasks. It incorporates a quartz heater on the infeed fence for improved glue bonding and incorporates efficient lighting via LED cabin lights controlled by a PLC system. The Pro-nest system allows for seamless edgebanding over hinge cup holes, and its pre-milling feature uses diamond tooling, with each motor running at 1.3 kW and 9600 rpm, ensuring clean panel preparation. The machine is equipped with a quick-change hot melt gluing unit featuring a Teflon-coated glue pot, and it can automatically reduce temperature during inactivity. Management and diagnostics are facilitated by a 7-inch Smart touch controller. The end trimming unit is powered by a single motor on linear bearings, while fine trimming is achieved with two 0.3 kW motors. Additional features include digital trim adjustments, combined radius and straight cutterheads, and multi-profile tooling options such as a 1.5mm radius scraper and 3-sided planer knives for a superior finish. Capable of handling panels from 8mm to 50mm in height and edgebanding materials up to 54mm, the machine operates at a track speed of 9 m/min. It requires a 6.5 bar pneumatic connection and uses a 24V control voltage. The 1.2 kg glue pot has a heat-up time of around 12 minutes and comes with an anti-adhesive unit for easy cleaning.
